The frustration mounts
You can almost see it in his eyes. But luckily, you can also hear it; Holden whines and grunts with real feelings now. He has opinions. He hates strangers. He wants to suck on the power cord. He wants to stand up and slap the baby in the mouth to see how it feels (he did pull to standing this week, btw, to grab baby Bailey’s head, and we’re so proud!).
I thought some of the strainings of frustration would calm down once he coordinated the crawling effort, but now there’s standing to learn. I found this post on dadcentric, “Ambition, Meet Reality“, that sums it up pretty well.
We’re doing pretty well here in flibbs-land. We’ve got some more pictures to share. And a burning desire to get some of our own hobbies. I caught myself asking Alec today, “are you looking at Holden’s pictures?” and then I realized that they’re supposed to be all the photos of our lives together over the past few months, not just his.
I guess we need to teach Holden to take some pictures of us. He sure seems interested in the camera, so maybe he’d be up for it.

It sound like a good stage for all of you- to invite each other into your lives as individuals. Enjoy the journey!
