First words
Holden has become very vocal in the past week or two. Amidst the babbling, gurgling and raspberries, many a profound utterance has leaked from his wise mouth.
While we’re not exactly sure what his first word was, I’ve been keeping a mental list of some of the many things he’s said:
- Hi
- Mama
- Michael
- Unagi
- Thanks
- Cool
- Glue
Unagi was perhaps the most surprising, because while he met someone named Michael at around 6 weeks of age, he hasn’t even seen sushi since his first week. I guess no more TV for him until he’s nine.
I thought Julian said “Get in the water” when we turned on the sink the other day. Later I realized he probably said “gaeeiinaawaadaa”, which is actually baby-ese for “I’m excited.” Perhaps we should arrange a phone call for these loquacious boys. They can discuss sushi and Goodnight Moon.
